Our company maintains efficient input control, interphase control (IPC) and quality control of final products. The X-ray control of input materials and ultrasonic control of internal defects of materials are carried out by our certified staff members. During the interphase control process, each operator involved in the machining process contributes to ensuring that the products comply with the specifications listed in the work order. The quality of final products is tested with dimensional control and control of materials with destructive and non-destructive testing methods.


Our In-house tools in the hands of our competent staff with extensive experience allows us to maintain a constant control over processes and all important characteristics of fastening elements. This allows us to maintain a high level of responsiveness to your needs and a high level of reliability of Blaj products, which can also be certified. 


TESTING PROCEDURES:

Dimensional controls:

  • dimensional control using conventional measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges etc.;
  • dimensional control using a measuring projector;
  • dimensional and positional tolerance control using the MAHR measuring device;
  • checking of surface texture parameters (roughness).

Control of mechanical properties:

  • hardness testing (HV, HBW, HRC);
  • microhardness testing (HV0.3 … HV0.5);
  • tensile testing of bolts on machined test pieces (Rm, Rp0.2, ReL, A, Z, etc.);
  • tensile testing of full size bolts;
  • proof load testing of nuts;
  • Impact strength testing (Charpy);
  • mix-up testing using the UCI method (hardness).

Surface defect inspection:

  • magnetic particle inspection up to a length of 4,000 mm;
  • penetrant testing.

NEW: METALLOGRAPHIC LABORATORY RENOVATION

In 2017, we have successfully completed the investment project dedicated to our metallographic laboratory. The investment in the metallographic laboratory included a new abrasive table saw, Buehler automatic grinding and polishing machine for metallographic specimen preparation and the Olympus BX53M luminosity microscope with corresponding software. Aljaž Zagajšek, a metalworker at Blaj Fasteners, is satisfied with the upgraded metallographic laboratory: “The investment enables us to use all the metallographic techniques and methods for inspecting the material.” This investment allows us to perform detailed investigations of:

material microstructures;
the content of non-metallic inclusions and grain size;
fractographic properties;
flow lines;
surface protections and
various effects of the atmosphere and temperature in heat treatment and forging.
